Small-area offense and defense: Like many other sports, Lacrosse is comprised of several mini ‘battles’ that occur within the game. One of the most common set of battles includes 1 on 1’s, 2 on 2’s and 3 on 3’s. All too often players do not understand how to properly execute in these battles, whether they are on offense or defense. The focus of the small-area offense/defense training will include, but not be limited to:
• Confidently attacking or defending the 1 on 1
• Teamwork and communication with the two-man game
• Off-ball positioning
Shooting: Shooting is a critical part to the game. Often, players form bad habits that are hard to correct, and Spring/Summer practices don’t allow time to focus on this important skill, to help players standout from others. The focus of our shooting training sessions will include, but not be limited to:
• Proper shooting form/mechanics
• Shot selection
• Shot location
Faceoffs: Have a child who loves to do faceoffs? Faceoffs are such a critical part of the game from the 10U level and up, and like other aspects of the game, repetition is key. The focus of our faceoff training sessions will include, but not be limited to:
• Body positioning/stance
• Faceoff moves and counter moves
• Groundball play off faceoffs
Goalie Training: Whether your son is new to goaltending or has been playing for a while, nothing compares to having goalie-specific instruction. Goalie training is more than just taking shots but also explaining how to properly defend the cage. The focus of our goalie training sessions will include, but not be limited to:
• Proper positioning/stance
• Attacking shots from different areas/angles
• Passing and moving around outside of the crease
